But do you understand that some people get extremely, extremely triggered by things? That the mention of certain things can make them go into a panic attack that they can’t come back out of? That it’s not just because they don’t want to see something or feel it might make them feel a little ill, but no, they’ll be on the floor shaking and throwing up? 

wait so what you hate about tumblr is that its a safe space?? its a place where people can go “I don’t want to deal with X on the internet as well as in real life, so I wont.” 
Plus omg people who have those above mentioned panic attacks (or lighter ones, or hell, even just people who feel a little ill at some things) deserve to be able to browse the internet comfortably and without worry of something suddenly ruining their day. Because panic attacks are super good at ruining days.

The thing about tumblr is that you can literally post anything. From kittens to hardcore porn, there is no limit on what you’re allowed to post. There are no site-imposed rules on that, no mandatory under-13 warnings that hide nsfw posts, and above that there are no subject filters. So what people have done, then, is turned this space with no real rules into a space that can be literally safe and fun for anyone. Tagging triggers and being considerate to minorities is how tumblr is a safe space and I think its great because its something that doesnt happen elsewhere on the internet and it really should.
